Children and Young People's Palliative Care

Children and Young People’s Palliative Care: National report now available

The Local Square Table Learning and Evaluation Report which draws on the findings of all 37 Square Table events in England is now available.  We hope that you will agree that the report captures the opportunity provided by the Local Square Table Programme for service providers, commissioners and children, young people and their families across the children's palliative care community to deepen their understanding of the current issues and challenges facing the sector.

Some of the quotes and findings were drawn from our local event and provide really important evidence and insight for local services.

The Care Forum recently hosted a Square Table meeting, funded by the Department of Health, to consider the strategies for children with life-limiting conditions and their families over the next decade. TheLocal Learning Report arose from discussions at the meeting.

The Care Forum was also funded to host a specific voluntary sector providers’ reference group and to report on the groups’findings.  The report explores and expands upon some of the themes of the Square Table including key working, care pathways, communication and transition from children to adult’s services.

If you have any queries about either document, please contact louisehudson@thecareforum.org.uk( 0117 958 9337 and do forward both reports to any of your contacts who may find the information interesting or useful in their work.
