‘What we do for our statutory sector partners’
The Care Forum provides channels of communication, consultation and engagement between statutory sector and the health, social care and wellbeing voluntary sector. We work with statutory partners in Bath and North East Somerset; Bristol; North Somerset; and South Gloucestershire.
We also support specific regional initiatives; latest examples are on our news page.
We work with statutory partners in the following ways:
- co-ordinating specialist networks that enable commissioners and service delivery officers to reach health and social care VSOs and seldom engaged groups of service users. Please go to our Networks page
- supporting effective consultation and engagement by facilitating meetings, events and focus groups of voluntary sector providers and their service users
- providing effective voluntary and community group representation on multi-agency strategic and service planning groups. For more information go to our Voluntary Sector home page
- giving specialist advice on policy development and implementation as it impacts on the health and social care voluntary sector and analysing local and national policy. For this and more see our latest Newsletters and Information sheets.
- facilitating voluntary sector input into the national and local Compacts
- building the capacity of the local voluntary sector to provide services identified in the local Joint Strategic Needs Assessments
- providing vigorous channels through which to engage service users and the wider public in improving their local health and social care services. See our Local Involvement Networks page.
- providing direct services such as our health and social care advocacy and piloting new services, such as the New Routes social prescribing project
- enabling
statutory agencies to look at needs and gaps in services and to signpost people to
