The Care Forum is the host for Bristol and South Gloucestershire Local Involvement Networks

Local Involvement Networks (LINks) give individuals and community groups the chance to have their say in the health and adult social care services that they use.

LINks collect issues and concerns from their local communities and feed these back to the service providers to make sure that changes are made for the better.

LINks are funded by the Department of Health and hosted by independent organisations so that they can be a critical friend to local health and adult social care providers.

LINks have been given statutory powers which help them hold services to account:

  • Trained volunteers are able to carry out spot checks on services to investigate a specific concern, known as an ‘Enter and View’.
  • They can refer issues to the relevant local Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
  • They can request information from local services and by law insist on a reply within 20 working days.
