The Care Forum’s Dialogue South Gloucestershire VCSE Network Meeting

In late October The Care Forum’s Dialogue Team ran a Network meeting e-conference on the topic of mutual aid groups and volunteering for the VCSE Health and Social Care sector in South Gloucestershire.

The Topic for this network meeting was Volunteering and Mutual Aid . This gave attendees an opportunity to connect with other professionals from the sector, to hear guest speakers,

We had 3 fantastic speakers who presented at our event who were Jon Shaw from South Gloucestershire Council, Jenny Vernon from Southern Brooks and Kelsey Lee Booy of Mama’s CIC.

We also had an interactive workshop after the presentations which gave attendees an opportunity to share knowledge and best practice, and to offer insight from their own organisational and personal perspectives. Below are some quotes to highlight the value of the workshop.

“If we find ourselves in a similar position as back in March, then we are better equipped with the knowledge on how to support communities.”

“We need to work together so that we can harness the power of knowledge of everything that is being done in local areas and these types of event are helpful to do that”

“You can’t mobilise communities but communities can choose to mobilise themselves and it’s about how we create opportunities for communities to do that.”

Dialogue would like to thank everyone who attended including all of our fantastic speakers. For more information about the work Dialogue carries out please visit https://www.thecareforum.org/dialogue/
