Would you like to help make life better for carers?Carers Support Centre (CSC) Bristol and South Gloucestershire provides a wide range of information, advice, and support services for unpaid adult and young (children) carers.A carer is someone who provides support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems. All the care they give is unpaid. Three out of five people in the UK will become carers at some time in their lives.We currently have a vacancy in our Adult Carers Support Team who provide advice, information, and support services to unpaid carers in Bristol.Senior Carers Support Officer (Bristol)Days and hours of work: Monday – Friday 9am – 5 pm.Salary: £27,856Aims of the post• Support the Carers Support Manager to develop and develop CSC services in Bristol• Provide information, advice, and guidance, and undertake assessments and reviews with carers, by telephone and face to face• Refer carers to appropriate services and support both internally and externally• Provide line management to one Carers Support Officer, and one Administration support role• Develop and facilitate carers support groupsExperience/Knowledge• Recent and relevant experience of information, support, and advice work, and working with individuals needing emotional support/in crisis• An excellent understanding of the needs and issues for carers• Experience/ability to develop and deliver Carer Support Groups• Experience of managing staff and/or volunteersIf you would like to know more about this role, please call Dawn Osborne-Tiller on 0117 939 2562 for further information.
