The Care Forum

The Care Forum, based in Fishponds, Bristol, is an independent, not-for-profit organisation working throughout Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Bath & North East Somerset and North Somerset and is a Registered Charity No. 1053817.

The Care Forum aims to promote health and social well-being by:

  • Enabling voluntary organisations and through them local communities to participate fully and equally in the planning and improvement of services
  • Empowering individuals and groups through dialogue with service providers
  • Improving people’s access to services.

Healthwatch was established by the Department of Health in 2013 to champion the consumer interest of all those who use health and social care services. Healthwatch Bristol involves local people to help improve health and wellbeing services. Healthwatch is also active within the local community involving and informing people, assisting people and putting forward the community’s views about health and social care issues. The Healthwatch network is made of up of local Healthwatch in each of the 152 local authority areas and Healthwatch England, the national body.

Ways to Wellbeing

Ways to Wellbeing provides a free and confidential social prescribing service to anyone over the age of 18 living in and around the greater Fishponds area of Bristol.

Voice and Influence Partnership

Created to help make sure that individuals, groups and communities whose voices aren’t always heard are listened to, and are part of shaping Bristol’s future.

The Partnership is made up of The Care Forum, Bristol Multi-Faith Forum, Bristol Older People’s ForumBristol BME Voice, SARI and WECIL. The partnership is funded by Bristol City Council.

Advocacy

Our Advocacy Service delivers an empowerment model of advocacy and provides issue based, client-led support and assistance. We offer a wide range of services, from self-help, signposting and information through to full advocacy casework. Our Advocacy Service is free and independent.

Bristol Ageing Better (BAB)

The Bristol Ageing Better (BAB) programme is £5.9million of Lottery funding for Bristol and is a partnership working to reduce social isolation and loneliness among older people and help them live fulfilling lives.
