South Gloucestershire: Free General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Training

March 21 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

*****IMPORTANT: THIS EVENT IS TAKING PLACE ON WEDNESDAY 21 MARCH, 9:30 – 12:30, not Friday 23rd as previously advertised****

A recent King’s Fund report has highlighted that information governance is one of the most significant obstacles that prevents health commissioners working more with voluntary sector organisations. Linked to information governance is the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into force in May 2018. GDPR applies to all organisations and is intended to harmonise the way that personal information is handled to make sure people’s personal information is handled appropriately and securely.

To support health and social care voluntary sector organisations to get to grips with GDPR, The Care Forum will be holding a half day of hands-on, practical training on Wednesday 21 March.  It is a chance for voluntary sector organisations to understand their legal obligations in gathering and processing of data as to see how this can be an opportunity to demonstrate effective information governance to both clients and commissioners.

Priority is given to groups providing services in South Glos.

This event will take place on Wednesday 21 March and will run from 9.30am to 12:30pm.

Venue: Turnberries, Thornbury Community Centre, Bath Road, BS35 2BB

You can register to attend the event here.

Please share this invite with any people or organisations that you think this training will be relevant to, especially those who work in health, wellbeing and social care.

We look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We think demand for this event will be high – spaces are limited but depending on demand we will consider running a further session in April – if you are interested please let us know.
