Covid-19 and loneliness

Before Covid-19 reached the UK, loneliness had already been recognised as an important issue facing many people in society. A new study by the What Works Centre for Wellbeing set out to discover what impact Covid-19 has had on the population’s level loneliness. They made the surprising discovery that, although people have reported themselves as being more bored and unhappy during lockdown, they have not reported themselves as being lonely.
