Drake Music sessions

Drake Music, who have worked in Bristol for a number of years running music projects for disabled children and young people and adults.Drake Music are delivering a music project in partnership with Bristol Beacon for adults aged 18+ in Bristol. This is happening via Zoom at the moment with a view to moving to a blended model or face to face sessions when it is safe to do so. We are looking for a few more people to join the group and I thought you may be able to signpost people to the group. The project starts with one to one sessions with Luke Turner, our music leader, and the participant (up to 7 sessions) and then we will look at how people might come together in pairs or small ensembles. These one to one sessions will give Luke and the participant an opportunity to get to know one another, share their musical interests and what they would like to explore. The sessions are taking place on a Friday at the moment but there is some flexibility on days of the week. We currently have 2 people in the group and this will be a 3 year project, popping up at different points of the year.We use traditional instruments and music tech such as iPads or web based instruments and we can also offer some support to help people become familiar with using apps/devices to make music and possible instrument loans. We have a have a couple of spaces left in the group so if you know of anyone that might be interested in trying a session then please do let me know!
