N Somerset: Help needed to apply for extra Sportarray Initiative Funding

‘We’ve been invited to apply to Sport England for a funding extension to our Sportarray initiative in North Somerset – and we need your help!

Sportarray has been supporting opportunities for people with disabilities, sensory impairment, mental health issues and long-term health conditions to take part in sport and physical activity since we launched the programme in January 2013.  For those of you not familiar with the initiative please find attached our latest newsletter and a copy of the local sports clubs/activities that we support/promote.

We now have until Tuesday 31 January to prove that there is a local need for further support.

Our Sportarray Steering Group has identified gaps in provision for people with mental health issues and wider opportunities in Portishead.

We need to gather insight into local need, so if you have any evidence that you can share with us, particular pertaining to mental health or Portishead activity, but not excluding other support you feel is needed in North Somerset, please could you send me this information so that I can include it in our funding bid?

All the evidence we gather will support the growth and sustainability of our Sportarray initiative going forward, which will have a positive impact on those who you support.

I would be very grateful if you could send this insight through to me by Wednesday 25 January.’
