Trustee Vacancy With Age UK South Gloucestershire

I am reaching out on behalf of BeOnBoard to share an exciting new Trustee vacancy with you with Age UK South Gloucestershire. Although part of the Age UK network, Age UK South Gloucestershire is an independent charitable company, securing its own funding and functioning autonomously with guidance from its Board of Trustees.

On a mission to support older people, their families and carers to help them get the best from later life, Age UK South Gloucestershire are looking to recruit a new Trustee with the following characteristics and experience:

Are you an aspiring boardroom leader from an under-represented background?
Do you share their core values – Inclusive, Caring, Effective, Enabling, Influencing, Innovative?
Do you believe inclusive governance matters?
Also do you have any of the following skill sets and experience in either:

Voluntary Sector experience & knowledge
Knowledge of the local community
Equalities & Diversity
Fundraising
Digital Strategy & Innovation
Press and Public Relations
If you answered yes to any of the above questions you could be the ideal Trustee that Age UK South Gloucestershire are seeking. And as a charity that is 100% committed to embracing and embedding ED&I, Age UK South Gloucestershire is especially keen to increase boardroom representation. Therefore, they warmly welcome applications from BAME individuals and young people who are currently under-represented on the board of Trustees.

In his recent blog, here is what Martin Green the CEO of Age UK South Gloucestershire thinks about the importance of boardroom representation –

“A commitment to ED&I is one of Age UK South Gloucestershire’s core values. It’s about much more than our legal responsibilities. Many older people in minority groups face prejudice and discrimination that has a negative impact on their lives.” Click here to see the full blog.

So, by becoming a Trustee at Age UK South Gloucestershire not only will you help the organisation achieve its mission and become more inclusive, at the same time you will also grow your leadership skills and networks of influence.
