Launch: Age Friendly Community Chest

Is your street age friendly?

How would you make your area better for older people?

Do you have an idea to improve your neighbourhood for older people?

The Age Friendly Community Chest is a fund launched in partnership with Bristol Ageing Better, Age UK Bristol and the Celebrating Age Festival. Its aim is to support ideas at a local level that will make Bristol a better place for older people (aged 50+) to live. The fund can offer grants of up to £250 and will be open during June and July 2017 for applications for projects to be run in Summer 2017.

We welcome applications from any organisations that have identified a way to make a particular area, neighbourhood or community more age friendly. This can take the form of one-off events to encourage people to get to know their community better, or more permanent fixtures that will make a difference to everyone in a particular neighbourhood.

The application process is simple – it comprises just two pages and asks for a description of your project, what benefits you expect it to offer your community and how the money will be spent. Please include your bank details so that if you are successful we can arrange payment of your grant as possible.

If you’re interested in applying, download the application form which includes an information sheet. If you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch with our Project Officer Bianca Rossetti at biancarossetti@ageukbristol.org.uk or on 0117 9281539.

Restrictions: funding can only be granted to constituted groups, such as Registered Charities, Social Enterprises or C.I.C.s. Applications must be received by the deadline of midday on Wednesday 19th July 2017 and projects must take place between August and September 2017.
