Dear all,

I would like to invite you all to our biggest event to date. On the 18th of April, Mary and I are hosting our first Macular degeneration roadshow. The event will be held in the Education Centre on Upper Maudlin Street. This is a large building, opposite the BRI and is less than a 5 minute walk from the Eye Hospital.

The event will run from 11am-3pm with lunch provided for all attendees.

Our two guest speakers are Miss Bailey, Macular degeneration specialist and Ben Phipps, Lead optometrist for macular degeneration.

The event will also feature stalls from organisations showcasing what they are able to offer visually impaired people:

  • Contact the Elderly
  • National Eye Research Centre
  • Sensory Impairment team (Bristol City Council)
  • Vision North Somerset
  • Action for Blind People
  • Blind Veterans
  • Guide Dogs Association
  • Macular Society
  • We Care and Repair
  • Torch

Due to the size of the location, we are able to offer 120 places but as I envisage this event being popular, please book early to avoid disappointment.

Please also feel free to pass this email onto anyone else who you feel may be interested in attending.

If you would like to come then please contact me via phone or email or Mary (0117 342 9098) mary.mcgrory@uhbristol.nhs.uk
