Joint Ofsted/CQC inspection of SEND services – Somerset

For all parent carers of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND)

A joint Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection is taking place next week, (9-13 March 2020).

We have become aware of a technical error resulting in all parents of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans  receiving a letter outlining a visit by inspectors to their child’s educational setting.

We apologise for any confusion and anxiety this may have caused.

This letter should only have been received by a small number of parents.

Please be assured that no personal details have been shared inappropriately.

Parents of children and young people in settings which will be visited by the inspection team will have received a detailed letter from their education setting informing them of the visit arrangements.

If you haven’t received any notification from your child’s education setting of a visit then the setting will not be involved in this part of the inspection process.
