South Glos Council: Area wide grants

Is your community group looking for funding to support a project or service across South Gloucestershire?

The Area Wide Grant scheme is open for applications

South Gloucestershire Council is inviting applications for Area Wide Grants (AWG) from voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and town and parish councils.

Area Wide Grants can be applied for to support community projects, events or services designed to meet the needs of residents in at least six of the 14 Community Engagement Forum (CEF) areas in South Gloucestershire.

A budget of £70,000 is available for the financial year 2021/22 and the deadline for applications in Round 1 is 07 May 2021.

The maximum level of award is £3,000 with flexibility for both exceptional circumstances and budget availability. For further information on the scheme please go to South Gloucestershire Council’s webpage southglos.gov.uk/AWG.

All organisations must be registered to the Grants Online System and must be approved before making an application. For more information please see our Registration Guidance.

Applications received before 07 May 2021 will be presented to a sub-group meeting and recommendations from this meeting will be presented to the Executive Member for Public Health and Equality of Opportunity for a decision to be published later in in the year. Applications should therefore be for projects and services being delivered from September 2021.

In support of the Area Wide Grant scheme a number of Principles for Area Wide Grants have been agreed to provide a transparent, accountable, consistent and legal process.

You can contact the Grants Helpline for advice or to request an application form, if your organisation has already registered.
