Better Care Stronger Communities Grants – Consultations

South Gloucestershire Council’s Better Care Stronger Communities Grants – Consultations

South Gloucestershire Council has a track-record of working with and supporting the local voluntary and community sector.  The current Better Care Stronger Communities Grants have offered stability to the sector with 3 year funding arrangements.  National austerity measures and increasing demand for statutory services means that the Council has to make significant savings across all of their budgets.  All areas of the Councils activity have savings targets to achieve.  They want to continue supporting the voluntary sector in South Gloucestershire to thrive but also need to make reductions in the level of funding available.

From 7th November they will be consulting, for 12 weeks, on the level of funding reduction and the process for award of the reduced funding envelope for some voluntary sector funding and the Better Care Stronger Communities Grants.  The results of the consultation will inform their final decision, which will be taken in March 2019.

The full details of the consultation can be found on the council web pages from 7th November.  The link will be shared through the Care Forum and CVS bulletins when available.

South Gloucestershire Council are holding 2 meetings to share information on the funding envelope, the proposed tender process and to share what we are looking to achieve from this funding.

Come along to have your say on what you think South Gloucestershire Council’s Better Care Stronger Communities Grants funding priorities should be and understand how any changes implemented could affect your organisation.
