Walking Cricket sessions free for anyone aged 55 and over

On Tuesday 22nd May 2018 the Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB) launched Walking Cricket in Bristol

The Walking Cricket sessions will continue every Tuesday from 29th May at 11.30am – 12.30pm in the sports hall at The Park Centre, Daventry Road, Bristol, BS4 1DQ which also has a café and offers free parking.

All sessions are free for anyone aged 55 and over.

Walking Cricket is played with a soft ball and is suitable for all abilities. Whether you are considering playing for the first time, would like to get back into the game after some time away, or would like a gentler approach to the sport, there is something for everyone.

Teams will consist of six or eight and games are based around the indoor cricket format, with runs being scored off the walls plus whatever is ‘walked’ between the wickets, with players only walking halfway up the pitch.
All equipment is provided. All players will need to wear are clothes they can move in, like a track suit, some trainers and it is advisable to bring a bottle of water.

If your curiosity has been peaked and you would like to find out more or you want to take part, please contact Crispin Shingler at the Gloucestershire Cricket Board.
